Ms. Simms Welcome to 5th grade! What an amazing year we are going to have “Unlocking the Mystery of Learning” together! I can’t wait to meet and get to know each of you! Spending time with my family, especially my two daughters, Jence & Gemma (8th and 2nd graders!) I also love to paint, exercise to stay healthy, and read (especially about teaching!) in my free time. My favorite place to visit is the beach. I love the colors hot pink & turquoise, coffee, sea turtles, and Target! This is my 3rd year of classroom teaching. I’ve taught art education part-time for two years and am elated to teach English Language Arts & social studies this year! Before teaching, I was a “stay at home mom”, a PTA board member, tutor & sub. I am certified in grades 1-5 and art education K-12. I am also working on English as a Second Language during summers. I have a Master of Arts in Teaching from Southeastern Louisiana University.
