Laptops and Windows tips

Plug in a bigger monitor or projector Plug in a full size keyboard and mouse You can use an SD memory card instead of a USB flash drive to reduce the chance of damage to laptop

Off = Running on battery This button turns wireless on and off On = Power on Flashing = Sleeping On = Wireless enabled Orange = Charging Blue = Charged Off = Running on battery This button turns wireless on and off

Saving Power Turn wireless off when not needed Reduce brightness of screen (Fn + ) Have a static background (not a slide show) Use sleep mode between activities and classes Turn off laptop screen when using a projector (home + p)

Connecting to a projector Press home and ‘p’ to choose different display options This option saves power

Right click on the icon to pin it to the taskbar if you use it often

Hover mouse over icons in task bar to preview what is open

Click Alt + tab to switch between open applications Click + tab to switch between open applications with style
