Yearly Meetings Our next meeting will be Friday, February 16th. Our final meeting will take place on Friday, April 20th. Meetings will start at 8:30 AM in the auditorium, and IDs will be used to sign in.

NHS Service The Ponte Vedra High School NHS will be completing two whole society service projects this year. One in the Fall Semester and one in the Spring Semester. Both projects are mandatory for NHS members to maintain society membership. For NEW members, they will only be expected to serve in the Spring project. In addition, NHS members must fulfill minimum 2 hours of service per semester through the Ocean Palms Elementary School D.E.N. program or the new induction committee. NEW members are expected to fulfill 2 hours of O.P.E. service only in the Spring semester. This involves tutoring, reading, playing games, and mentoring younger students.

Ocean Palms Service a. Minimum Hours needed: 2 b. Days/Shifts available: Any time before December 8, 2017 (which is the due date for all NHS Volunteer hours) c. NHS Induction Committee Help plan Induction for New NHS Members, set up beforehand and clean-up afterwards. Thursday, January 18th. C. Select your own Needs to be approved by both Ms. Alonzo and Ms. Cortes, minimum of 5 hours, appropriate. A minimum of 5 service hours total is required if you have documented evidence demonstrating an inability to attend the Hurricane Cleanup. Sign-up by Nov 17th!

Spring Service Spring Service will allow NHS members to customize their service according to their needs. Approval is needed from both Ms. Alonzo and Ms. Cortes before work can begin. January 8th is the deadline to get your project approved. A minimum of 5 hours will be required. Tutoring will not count towards the NHS Spring Service Project. At the end of the spring semester, another cover sheet must be submitted detailing the nature of your service project, verification from a supervisor (cover letter), and photographic evidence. Ocean Palms Elementary service will still be an additional requirement.
