Healthy Kids Act K-5 30 minutes/day College Community 6-12 120 minutes/week Requirement met through PE and Recess in K-6 Requirement met through PE and activities in 6-12 College Community Healthy Kids Act

K-4 Sample Schedule College Community RECESS SCHEDULE recesses at lunch time are all 20 minutes for all grades except for 3rd grade. Theirs is 25 minutes since they do not have an additional recess. 2nd and 4th grade Brain Breaks are being used for recess currently. the non lunchtime recesses are all 10 minutes in length.

Prairie Point Grades 7-9 7th and 8th grades When students have PE 2 days a week=84 minutes per week 3 days a week = 126 minutes per week 9th grade 2 regular class periods = 84 minutes per week When they have regular and block day = 132 minutes per week. College Community Prairie Point Grades 7-9

During the P.E. classes students are getting 150 minutes per week Parents and students fill out a form sent out by the district confirming their activity throughout the school year. They list their extracurricular activities plus any additional physical activity and these minutes meet the requirement for the remainder of the school year. These forms are sent out at registration. Health Instruction K-6 College Community Integrated into PE and Counseling Pulled out of core in grades 4th- 6th for Human Growth and Development Units College Community Health Instruction K-6

Health Instruction Prairie Point The 9th kids are currently receiving 8-10 class periods of nutrition education. In 7th grade health, they receive 8 class periods of nutrition education. 36 to 37 students per class throughout the day. The health classrooms are full with 35 students per class in 7th grade. Health Instruction Prairie High Physical Health Standards are integrated into PE Social Emotional--Counseling Meet requirement of 1 semester in 9th grade Goal to distribute more standards into 10-12--especially Human Growth and Development and Sex Ed College Community Health Instruction Prairie High
