VOC Hydrocarbons: Methane Hailey Bowman

Waste Management Agricultural Sources Energy Sources Three sources of it: Waste Management Agricultural Sources Energy Sources

Indoor or outdoor pollutant: Because one of the main sources of methane into the environment is from the natural decomposition of plant and animal matter in airless conditions.

Primary or Secondary Pollutant: Because it is a natural source and man made source that is directly released into the atmosphere.

Two human health effects: eye and skin irritation Headaches

One environmental effect: Methane’s warming effect is 21 times greater than that of carbon dioxide

Prevent or reduce Methane: eat less red meat: if the consumption of red meat is limited, there will be fewer cows contributing to methane emissions Interior department: expected to propose standards this spring that would reduce methane leaks from oil and gas wells
