Marketing Part 2 - Journal You should have reviewed the Promises, Promises LAP Gray Zone. Respond to the following situation in your journal: BeBop Fine Attire has positioned itself as “the prom headquarters.” The shop offers a wide array of tuxedos, suits, ties, formal dresses, jewelry, shoes, and hair accessories; and everything in the store is “satisfaction guaranteed.” Unfortunately, the shop has noted that some customers appear to be abusing that guarantee. For three years in a row, for example, Mindy has visited BeBop to get a dress and jewelry to wear to prom. Then, approximately one to two weeks after each prom, she has returned the items—with the tags attached—to the store and asked for her money back. Each year, she has told the sales representative that she “just wasn’t satisfied” with her purchases. In past years, the store refunded Mindy’s money to her. However, given her history of returns, BeBop’s manager recently decided not to sell anything to Mindy ever again—she’s simply too much of a hassle. Are the manager’s actions ethical? Is it fair for the store to refuse to sell its products to Mindy? What do you think? What would you do in the manager’s place?
