A Proposal for Structured Data Set Quality Assessments Jörg Schulz (EUMETSAT)

Overview WDAC tasked with outlining guidance to perform quality assessments also providing high-level best practices to entire WCRP; Item discussed since 2013: WDAC-2 (2013) saw first presentation of what this guidance may contain; WDAC-3 (2014) saw first version of the Data Set Quality Assessments: Needs, Benefits, Best Practises and Governance paper based on experiences from GDAP. Discussion led to need for update, in particular, addition of linkage to obs4mips; WDAC-4 (2015) should review updated paper and is asked to decide if this is forwarded to other areas of WCRP. Expect further discussion of inputs from other WCRP areas at WDAC-5 (2016).
