So tell us… what are we doing here? For your 1st semester POL of Senior year, we feel the need to take it up a notch… You will be presenting for Government and English 12 together in a series of… LIVE DEBATES!

Stoll/Solis debates on civil liberties: In teams of three, you will be taking a stance for or against a statement on a controversial topic Your debate team will have one week to prepare arguments for a formal debate Debates will last for 60 minutes Including time after for Q & A Each team will be given a debate prompt statement, and will be told whether or not you are arguable in support or in opposition to that statement

Essential skills: English 12: Government: English = FORM In the debate, your ability to formulate strong arguments and present them will be assessed by Stoll Government: Government = CONTENT In the debate, your ability to identify and analyze evidence in support of your argument will be assessed by Solis
