CW Journey’s End Friday, 07 December 2018 Learning Outcomes To understand how the four first characters are presented in the play

From your reading of the play, Which Picture most suits each Character?

Hardy What purpose does he serve in the play? What do we learn about the conditions of the trenches from Hardy. Collect quotes.

Osborne and Raleigh How does Sherriff create our first impressions of Osborne and Raleigh? In what ways can Osborne be seen to help Raleigh?

Stanhope We hear lots of different characters’ opinions of Stanhope before we meet him. Match up the opinion with a Stanhope quote.

Stanhope’s First Appearance In pairs, act out Stanhope’s first appearance, taking into account all the qualities we have just talked about. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y98QdRmLfbQ&t=94s 12.20
