of scholarly/academic/peer-reviewed articles Here are some characteristics of scholarly/academic/peer-reviewed articles

It is identified as an academic journal

It is relatively long

It may contain charts

It has a long, very specific journal article title

(a summary of the article at the beginning) It has an abstract (a summary of the article at the beginning)

The abstract might be divided into sections that mirror the article’s format

the “Results” section is in the abstract and in the article Example: the “Results” section is in the abstract and in the article

The article includes in-text citations

It may include graphs, tables, images or data that illustrate the results

There is an extensive reference list/ bibliography

The article also includes author affiliations and qualifications
