Mesopotamia & Egypt Jigsaw Steps – in partners, you will each be learning about one of the civilizations & then teaching it to your partner… Each student will research all of the basic elements of a civilization - either Mesopotamia or Egypt Work out who is researching (in charge of) which civilization Part I - Teaching Use the reading posted on the website AND one source from the SHS library database to take notes to use when you teach your partner. Figure out the 8 basic features of your civilization (I suggest making a table) Present your information to your partner on Thursday Teach your partner about the civilization Make sure you are thorough & have something concrete to give them. Part 2 – Organized Notes Create a typed one page note sheet + works cited to turn in to Ms. Maners/Mr. Rahr Each student will write a thesis statement answering the following: Argue the most significant cultural aspect of the civilization you are in charge of. Each student will find 2-3 pieces of evidence to prove the thesis Explain why evidence proves your thesis Create a MLA works cited for this assignment Minimum of at least two sources for this assignment, all sources used will need to be included in your works cited
