Machine was also removed as the M in ATM stands for the word machine. to: Too is a synonym for also or means an excess of something. To should be used here as a preposition. than: Then is mainly an adverb, often used to situate actions in time. Than is a conjunction used in comparisons. it’s: It’s is a contraction for it is. Its indicates possession. two dollars, but: Two should be written out as it is a number under 10. Dollars was misspelled. “Rules of the Game” Today, we’re going to read part of a famous novel called “The Joy Luck Club,” written by Asian-American author Amy Tan. Tan’s novel is about the relationships between children and parents – and how a parent’s love can be a double- edged sword. As we read, consider: Why does Waverly’s mother act the way she does? Do you think the way she treats her daughter is okay?

“Rules of the Game” Create a Google Doc, share it with me, and respond to the questions on your handout in complete, thoughtful sentences.
