What you need to turn in…. …if you haven’t yet  “The Necklace” Questions – from 1/17 Irony Practice – from 1/17 “Cask of Amontillado” Story Arc – Due Today! “Cask of Amontillado” Movie Poster – Due Today!

“Rules of the Game” Today, we’re going to read part of a famous novel called “The Joy Luck Club,” written by Asian-American author Amy Tan. Tan’s novel is about the relationships between children and parents – and how a parent’s love can be a double- edged sword. As we read, consider: Why does Waverly’s mother act the way she does? Do you think the way she treats her daughter is okay?

“Rules of the Game” Create a Google Doc, share it with me, and respond to the questions on your handout in complete, thoughtful sentences. Be sure to provide textual evidence (specifically, quotes!) for questions 1, 5, and 6. If you finish early, you’re welcome to finish your movie posters from Tuesday or work on your IXL for this week (C.7, C.9, and D.6). Good luck!
