State funding The Recovery Act provides over $4 billion dollars in funding and can be used to: Modernize our state’s infrastructure Enhance our energy independence Sustain our educational system Increase access to health care Provide tax relief to businesses and citizens These funds will be distributed to our state through already established channels and flow through state agencies. 12/7/2018

Laying the foundation for the future In addition to the $4 billion allocated to our state, there is also over $100 billion available in discretionary funding. The largest funding areas include: Energy and green jobs – promoting alternative energy, energy efficiency, and green jobs programs Broadband deployment – expanding service to unserved or underserved areas of the state Health technology – creating a national health information network for the exchange of electronic health records Research and innovation – building on Washington’s strong research sector High-speed Rail – improving rail corridors for passenger rail will significantly improve freight rail Workforce development – developing a skilled workforce for jobs of the future 12/7/2018

Transparency & Accountability Unprecedented standards of accountability, performance reporting, and openness Accountability means we can demonstrate that the funds are used wisely and efficiently to achieve substantive outcomes Transparency means making sure that citizens can easily access information and can track the progress of each project We have created a website www.recovery.wa.gov that citizens can monitor and see where the recovery money is going and the results being produced 12/7/2018
