Animals of Utah Mr. Argyle’s Class

Rocky Mountain Elk Live in the forested mountains of Utah. Move as a herd or group for protection. Large bull may weigh up to 700 lbs.

Black Bear Are secretive animals. Have a light brown muzzle. 80% of food is vegetation.

Squirrel Sounds an alarm when danger is near Storrs food for winter

Bison Roams the Henry Mountain area of Utah. Leaves tracks similar to cattle.

Mountain Lion (puma, cougar, panther, painter) Have retractable claws. 80% of food is mule deer. Live near cliffs, ledges, and tall trees.
