Expectations Respect Lions treat each other kindly Respect others’ ideas, opinions and learning styles. Stay positive and open-minded. Keep your hands and feet to yourself. Ownership Lions take care of our school Leave the classroom BETTER than you found it. Achievement Lions strive for excellence  Be organized and prompt with assignments. Work collectively to reach class goals. Responsibility Lions make good choices  Come to class prepared and on time. Use appropriate language and volume.  Materials Binder Tabs 1 3-Ring Binder Tab #1: Warm-up/Essential questions 1 set of 5 tab dividers Tab #2: Notes and Activities Pencils/Pens (blue or black ink) Tab #3: Vocabulary and Study Guides Paper Tab #4: Formative Assessments Tab #5: Summative Assessment Grading System Students will be graded on a points system. Re-teach/Re-take Policy allows students to learn at different rates and in different ways.  This policy provides equity and allows students to demonstrate mastery. 69% and below: Teacher-Directed Reassessment Students are required to attend a re-teaching session, complete the ‘Request to Retest’ document, and re-take the assessment. Score will be capped at 85%. 70-85%: Student–Directed Reassessment Students who receive a 70-85% on a summative assessment (quizzes and tests) may request to re-take the assessment. A retake will be administered if all assignments are complete prior to the test date and upon the student’s completion of the ‘Request to Retest’ document. In addition, students are provided one opportunity to show they have improved their mastery of the content. Score will be capped at 85%. 86% and above: Students earning above an 86% have demonstrated proficiency of the content and will not be eligible for a retake. Performance Based Assessments and Projects Students will receive teacher feedback throughout the drafting process regarding necessary revisions. Students are expected to incorporate the revisions into their final projects and essays. Therefore, final products that earn a grade 70% or above are not eligible for retakes. Grade Communication Please check PHOENIX throughout each quarter for up-to-date grades. If you have any questions, please contact me via email. Please note, it may take up to 10 business days to thoughtfully assess student work and enter grades into Phoenix. Stay Connected! Phoenix : In the event of an absence, the student is responsible for accessing and completing the posted assignments through Phoenix. Daily activities, notes, study guides, and vocabulary are available for download.
