Presentation transcript:

Kevin Henkes I became an author-illustrator when I was nineteen years old. Susan Hirschman at Greenwillow Books made my dream come true. My first picture book, All Alone, was published in 1981. Since then I've written and illustrated many picture books and written several novels. I like the variety of trying new ways to fill the pages between two covers. Experimenting with words and paint and ink keeps my job interesting.

Picture Books In 1981, he published his first book entitled: All Alone In 2004, he published his newest picture book: Kitten’s First Full Moon

Mouse Books Henkes found that using mice was a great way to hook his young readers! His books are based on real life situations that he encountered while growing up! Young readers can relate!
