”eHealth” Popular word, but what is it really? Definition Refers to tools and services using information and communication technologies (ICTs) that can improve and/or benefit the entire community by improving access to care and quality of care. As well as making the health sector more efficient. eHealth also includes information and data sharing between patients and health service providers, hospitals, health professionals and health information networks. National and regional eHealth National eHealth is an initiative to improve how well social services and healthcare work. The last couple of years national eHealth have focused on the advantages of different e-services as well as development of eHealth in all municipalitys. Change of focus! National eHealth have changed focus from technical development to process- and qualitydevelopment. It is no longer correct to refer to eHealth as an ”IT-question” or ”computer-issue”. Some examples of what eHealth can provide us with . . . The possibility for elders to stay in their homes longer, if they wish to. Simple, but important technical devices that can support and facilitate every-day-life. An increase in peoples integrity and personal freedom. High quality information processes. What do we want to achieve in the next few years? We want to use available new technologies in order to offer the elderly a chance to determine their own lifestyle. Like elderly care cameras, simple video communication and digital keyboxes. We want to open up for new ways of communication between the profession and our citizens. Such as e-services, new e-id:s and video communication using laptops, phones, tv or remote controlled devices. We want to find new ways of streamlining our administrative tasks and improving our services. Ways of doing this is for example mobile documentations, where nurses can use an ipad or a small laptop in order to document medical and social information in real-time. We want to strengthen the individual integrity and build safe and high quality information channels. One way of improving in this area is to make sure that we have the very best rutines for our informationsystems, and that we use for example digital signing when dispursing medications. 2018-12-07 Presentationens namn

How do we move forward from where we are today? --We are currently looking at both national and regional initiatives. We want to break them down and compare them to our specific needs in Ale. -We have just finished written/produced a local eHealthstrategy. It specifies how we want to implement eHealth and how we gather knowledge and experience from our staff. The strategy also draws attention to why we are doing this and who we are doing it for. -We have also put forward an action-plan, that proposes which projects we should launch at first, and in which timeframe we should do it. What are our greatest challenges?
