PURPOSE OF COOL Is to learn what civilian credentials pertain to your military training, experience, and view resources available to help attain those credentials.
WHAT COOL PROVIDES Identifies requirements and gaps between Navy training and civilian credentialing. Provides resources available to fill gaps. Provides guidance to obtain funding. Rating/MOS and collaterals are applied. Other key resources such as Advancement Bibliography’s (BIBS) and Learning and Developing Roadmaps (LaDRs).

Why is “COOL” important? Improve chances at promotion in civilian and military careers. Job opportunity. Can contribute to military career development. Some state laws require you to have a certificate or license.
SUMMARY The “COOL” tool is an extremely helpful tool. A lot of certificates and license can be covered by the G.I. bill. Although best used while in military it can be used after separation as a source to find local agencies and get information pertain to said certificate or license.
