#1 Specific aspect of the revelation of Jesus for Laodicea The Amen Faithful and true witness Ruler of God’s creation

#2 True condition (“I know…”) “I know” your deeds = “I can see by what you do, what you are”

#3 Correction You are not cold You are not hot You are lukewarm

2 Timothy 3:4-5 4… lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God— 5 having a form of godliness but denying its power…

#3 Correction You are not cold You are not hot You are lukewarm I will spit you out = You make Me nauseous

#3 Correction “You say” you don’t need anything = Spiritual pride Pharisaical (self-righteous, religious) Luke 18:9-14 Self-sufficient, self-satisfied, self-governed

#3 Correction “You say” you don’t need anything = You are deceived! You do not realize your own condition- spiritually bankrupt! This is a description of the lost AND the lukewarm

#4 Encouragement There is only one remedy: to become needy “Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the Kingdom of heaven” -Jesus (Matthew 5:3)

#4 Encouragement “Buy from Me” buy = invest you have no currency; all you can offer is your own wretched condition purchase with faith, not works

#4 Encouragement “Buy from Me” Refined gold = divine nature White clothes = righteousness Fix your sight = Spiritual understanding

#5 Commendation “I love you” There is no salvation without repentance!

#6 His promise “Here I am” “I knock at the door” “I am speaking” “I will come in and spend much time”

#6 His promise To him who overcomes Sit with Christ on His throne #7 Listen up! “He who has an ear” The Spirit says this
