Gain and Loss

Introduction Life is filled with choices (Deut. 30:19-20; Josh. 24:14-15). If our focus is on the spiritual, we will experience earthly loss and heavenly gain (Phil. 3:7-11). If our focus is on the physical, we will experience earthly gain and heavenly loss (Matt. 16:24-27).

If We Choose Wisely… We Will Experience Renewal (2 Cor. 5:1-10; Rev. 21:1-8). We Will Experience Radiance (1 Cor. 15:20-22, 35-58). We Will Experience Rest (Heb. 4:1-13; Rev. 14:13). We Will Experience Reward (John 14:1-6; 1 Pet. 1:3-9).

If We Choose Foolishly… We Will Experience Death (Rom. 6:20-23; 8:5-8, 12-13). We Will Experience Destruction (Phil . 3:17-21; 1 Thess. 5:1-3; 2 Thess. 1:3-12). We Will Experience Darkness (Matt. 8:11-12; 22:11-14; 25:29-30). We Will Experience Disaster (Matt. 7:21-23; 25:41-43; Luke 12:13-21).

Conclusion In the various choices of life, have you demonstrated wisdom or folly? Are you prepared to meet God (Amos 4:6-13)? Will you experience the resurrection of life, or the resurrection of judgment (John 5:25-29)?
