Today we are going to learn: How to talk about gender roles Collocations with make and do Easily confused words

Do housework vs. do homework You do housework at home. It means clean up, do the washing, do the ironing. Homework is the task you are given at school, on a course. Don’t forget to do your Italian homework! Do exercise vs. do exercises Exercises are short tasks in a coursebook. This word is countable. Exercise (uncountable) means physical activity, e.g. working out at the gym. Do you do a lot of exercise? How often do you do exercise?

Make a decision vs. make up your mind You make a decision after some thinking and discussion. If it a serious matter, you can say take a decision. Now we need to make a decision about where we want to live. You make up your mind when you have a few choices and after thinking for some time. Which one do you want? Hurry up and make up your mind!

Practice Yulia is always late and she’s always __________ funny excuses, like ‘I had to take my capybara to the vet’. I hate __________housework, but I don’t mind washing up at the weekend.
