Figure 1 Immunohistologic analysis of ovarian xenotransplants after 6 months of graft. Two fragments per patient were allocated to histologic analysis after long-term xenografting. Twenty percent to 30% of each xenotransplant were analyzed by immunohistochemistry. Serial sections of ovarian xenotransplants were immunostained with CK-19, WT-1, GCDFP-15, or MGB-1 antibodies. A total of 70, 90, 84, 105, 60, and 120 sections were analyzed from cortex 11-F3, cortex 11-F4, cortex 12-R5, cortex 12-L2, cortex 13-L2, and cortex 13-G4, respectively. (A) Representative photographs of healthy primordial, primary, secondary, and antral follicles identified in ovarian xenotransplants. (B) Photographs of CK-19–positive structures identified inside one fragment of cortex 4 and cortex 12, and two fragments of cortex 13. Adjacent sections were immunostained with WT-1, GCDFP-15, and MGB-1 antibodies. NA = not available. Scale bar = 100 μm.
