Day Two: Imitation Writing Core Assessment Day Two: Imitation Writing

Write down what stylistic techniques this painter uses

How does this painter compare?

Genre Apprentice Pissarro (painted the first) was a famous painter in the impressionist movement Gauguin (painted the second) became his student It becomes clear then, how the first painting influenced the second, but it is also apparent that these two artists have their own creative visions

The Connect? As Gauguin was an apprentice to Pissarro, so you are called to be an apprentice to Whitman

Imitation Poetry You will be borrowing stylistic techniques from Whitman to develop a poem of your own Just as these two paintings share stylistic choices, but differ in what they choose to convey Do not sacrifice your ideas/beliefs/truth, just try out expressing it by using techniques from Whitman’s work
