30 Unit 8 SCARA robot Part1 EPSON scara robot EPSON is the world’s leading makers of SCARA robots. It began developing robots in 1981. Over the past three decades EPSON has used its robot expertise to produce many successful generations of EPSON robots known for out standing precision, speed and reliability. The following is a brief description of the main series of EPSON SCARA robots (the specific parameters of the specifications to EPSON officially announced the date).

30 Unit 8 SCARA robot Part1 EPSON scara robot G Series The space-saving robots in the G series are designed with EPSON's unique Smart Motion Control technology and provide among the industry's best speeds and accuracy, as shown in Figure 8-1. Figure 8-1 G series Robot The following is a brief description of the main series of EPSON SCARA robots (the specific parameters of the specifications to EPSON officially announced the date).

30 Unit 8 SCARA robot Part1 EPSON scara robot The following is the main features of G series of EPSON SCARA robots: • Quick, accurate movements shorten work time. • Precise and smooth straight and arch motions improve the quality of sophisticated work. • A ductless design with inner wiring increases the motion range by 20%. • Mounting options enable robots to be installed on a tabletop, wall, or ceilings, for the best layout and most space-efficient system.

30 Unit 8 SCARA robot Part1 EPSON scara robot RS Series EPSON RS-Series robots are more than just SCARA robots. We call them SCARA+ more, as shown in Figure 8-2. Unlike the normal SCARA Robots , the EPSON RS-Series have a unique ability to move the 2nd axis underneath the 1st axis thus allowing them to move throughout the entire workspace. Normal SCARA robots have to move around themselves thus leaving a big hole in the middle they cannot reach giving EPSON RS SCARA+ robots both work envelope and speed advantage. EPSON RS-Series SCARA+ robots have repeatabilities down to 0.010mm and cycle times of 0.339 s.

30 Unit 8 SCARA robot Part1 EPSON scara robot RS Series RS-Series are literally zero footprint robots. They are capable of easy integration into compact assembly cells. The unique work space design of RS-Series robots improves cycle time vs. other “old” SCARA designs. This means more parts processed in less time, while using a fraction of floor space which results in more profits. Figure 8-2 RS series Robot

30 Unit 8 SCARA robot Part1 EPSON scara robot LS Series LS-Series robots were created as the reduced cost solution for factories looking for maximum value without giving up performance, as shown in Figure 8-3. But as with all EPSON Robots, they are still packed with the same performance and reliability. Figure 8-3 RS series Robot

30 Unit 8 SCARA robot Part1 EPSON scara robot LS Series In addition, EPSON LS-Series robots are able to meet the demanding space requirements in factories today by providing a small footprint solution with superior workspace usage. With outstanding cycle times, industry leading ease of use and reliability, they are the robots of choice for high speed applications where superior performance is required at a value price.

30 Unit 8 SCARA robot Part1 EPSON scara robot T Series T-Series compact SCARA robots feature a built-in controller that eliminates the need to deal with complicated cabling during setup and maintenance, and a batteryless motor unit that improves cost efficiency to help keep total operating costs low. As shown in Figure 8-4. Figure 8-4 T series Robot

30 Unit 8 SCARA robot Part1 EPSON scara robot T Series T-Series have provided an I/O communications port closer to the end-effector. This port makes it easier to connect cables to the end-effector and supply power to it. There is no longer any need to route a long cable to the controller. The cable conduit, which contains pneumatic hoses as well as electrical cables, is shorter than in previous models. The shorter design gives it stability while the robot is moving, making it easier to route cables outside the conduit.
