Problem: Substance Abuse Jane was prescribed a number of medications to treat her depression and mood issues, including anti-anxiety drugs. Whenever stress mounted, she began reaching for more pills than she knew was healthy, but wasn’t able to stop. Her pill dependency started to affect her work and she called the Health Advocate EAP+Work/Life program for help. Solution: Jane called a Health Advocate EAP Counselor Her Counselor: Helped her sort through all the prescription medications she was taking Suggested ways to follow the recommended regiment and monitor her use Offered coping techniques to better manage stress Connected her to resources about substance abuse
