FHSAA Awards and New Requirements

FHSAA Awards FHSAA Ronald N. Davis Academic All-State Team: honors 24 graduating seniors from around the state who excel in both athletics and academics Academic Team Champion Awards Program: recognizes teams in each of the Association’s 20 sanctioned sports and 10 recognized sports, naming an Academic Team Champion in each classification Florida High School Athletic Hall of Fame: to date,156 deserving individuals have been enshrined in the Florida High School Athletic Hall of Fame

FHSAA Awards (continued) FHSAA Floyd E. Lay Sunshine Cup All-Sports Awards Program: points are awarded to a school based on its finishes in FHSAA State Series competitions in each sport in the classification in which it has been assigned to compete Fred E. Rozelle Sportsmanship Program: recognizes schools, in each section, who demonstrate outstanding sportsmanship

New NCAA Requirements Full Qualifier Complete 16 Core Courses: 10 of 16 courses must be complete before 7th semester 7 of 10 courses must be in English, Math, or Science Minimum Core-Course GPA of 2.3 Meet the Competition sliding scale requirement of GPA and ACT/SAT score Academic Redshirt Complete 16 Core Courses. Minimum Core-Course GPA of 2.0 Meet the Academic Redshirt sliding scale requirement of GPA and ACT/SAT score Non-qualifier Does not meet requirements for Full Qualifier or Academic Redshirt status
