Active Cell - where the cursor is sitting (a cell is where a column and row meet) Cell address in the NAME BOX Each CELL can be uniquely referenced by a combination of its COLUMN letter (A,B,C) and ROW number (1,2,3). This is known as the CELL ADDRESS eg H24 (Col H, Row 24) or A1 (Col A Row 1)
Formula Bar when you key data in a cell, it appears in the formula bar as well Cancel / Enter button if you choose Cancel, the data will disappear if you choose Enter, the data will appear in the cell
Dragging this border can change the width of a column to allow text to be seen As you “drag” the new width will be shown Release the mouse, column will widen
If you change the size of a font, then the row height SHOULD change automatically Dragging this border can change the height of a row if necessary
Formatting cells can be done using shortcut keys Formatting cells SHOULD NOT be done using the icons shown – the formats are not set up correctly for use in New Zealand Formatting cells can be done using shortcut keys Ctrl + Shift + 1 comma format
