Students who travel on/off campus would like to know the arrival time of buses at a specific bus stop. Customer – Texas A&M Transportation System End-user – Aggies

To receive real time signal from buses on all routes via RFID. To estimate and simulate the time of bus arrival at each bus stops. To provide students with bus arrival information via mobile-phone text message.

Technical Descriptions of RFID Implementation To decide on an optimum/acceptable location to place the RFID transceivers on the vehicle. To decide where to install the RFID tags concerning about various limitations. Data has to be received from the readers, and sent to the Central transportation systems mainframes/ PC.

Technical Descriptions of the Mainframe The raw data acquired from the RFID has to be manipulated and computed by the mainframe along with an estimated variance in travel time to find accurate information for the end-users. Technical Descriptions of the Communication Network Must be easily assessable by the majority of end-user. Commands must be hassle free and easy to use.
