Life of Christina Rossetti She was an English poet during the Romantic era. Poet and painter Dante Gabriel Rossetti was her brother. She was sickly as a child, therefore educated privately. She was engaged to an artist, but they broke it off due to religious differences. She preferred solitary pursuits, and rejected her brother’s socialite lifestyle that most poets and artists joined in during their time.
