Energy

What is it? Energy- The ability to do work Work is the transfer of energy Energy can be convected from one form to another Einstein's equation, E=mc^2, says that energy and the mass are equivalent and can be converted into each other. Law of Conservation of Energy

Types of Energy Kinetic Potential Gravitational Potential Mechanical Thermal Chemical Electrical Electromagnetic Nuclear Nonrenewable Renewable Fossil Fuels Hydroelectric Solar Geothermal Biomass Hydrogen Fuel Cell

Why do we need Energy? We use it in everything Examples: turning on lights, making pizza, watching tv, etc.

How to Generate Energy? Solar and Hydroelectric plants use natural resources to create energy The burning of fossil fuels Rollercoasters are examples of the transfer of Kinetic and Potential Energy

Overall Summary Without energy we wouldn’t be able to do the things we do in our everyday life. Whether it is chemical, mechanical, thermal, electromagnetic, or potential energy is important. It is used to make roller coasters, pizza, and we even use energy. Without energy conversion we wouldn't be able to save the energy we use. with renewable resources we are able reuse.
