What is Title I? Title I is the major component of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA). It is a federally funded program for the nation’s schools. The goal of Title I is to improve the educational program for all Hadley students. Title I schools spend the funds allocated based on the goals set in the School Improvement Plan which is developed jointly by parents and faculty.

Who Decides How Funds Are Used? Every school has an Educational Excellence School Advisory Committee (EESAC) composed of: Parents/Guardians Principal Teachers Community Stakeholders Students

What is Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA)? Gives states the authorization to identify their own goals to address proficiency on tests This law maintains the annual testing requirements for Reading, Math and Science

Working Together! The ESSA law requires that all Title I schools and families work together for success. How we work together is listed in the following documents: 2018-2019 School Improvement Plan (SIP) 2018-2019 Title I School-level Parent and Family Engagement Plan (PFEP) 2018-2019 School-Parent Compact

What is the School-Parent Compact? It is a plan which states how the school and parents will work cooperatively for the successful education of your child. The School-parent Compact will be reviewed and presented during the Open House Meeting. You will be contacted at a later date by your child’s teacher for recommendations regarding the plan.

School-level Title I Parental and Family Engagement Plan (PFEP) Requirements Offers Parent Academy and other meetings for parents at flexible times to maximize participation Provides parents of Title I students with timely information about Title I programs Assists parents in understanding academic standards, assessments, and how to monitor and improve the academic achievement of their children

How can you help in the development of the PFEP, SIP and School-Parent Compact? Attend monthly EESAC meetings by checking the times & dates of all meetings on the monthly calendar and marquee. All documents will be posted on the Hadley website and can also be found in the Main Office and the Family Enrichment Center. Please contact Ms. Stacey Isom-Vazquez, EESAC Chairperson, for additional information.

Parent’s Rights Be involved and request regular meetings with your child’s teachers. Receive information on your child’s level of achievement and academic growth on state academic assessments in a timely manner. Receive information as to the professional qualifications your child’s teachers and paraprofessionals. Receive information regarding the school district’s Consultation and Complaint Procedures.

School Accountability Report Card The Elementary and Secondary Education Act School Public Accountability Report (ESEA SPAR) provides parents and the community with the following information: Demographic data; School safety and climate for learning information; Academic data; Graduation rates; Class sizes; Teacher and staff information; Curriculum and instruction descriptions; Postsecondary preparation information. ESEA SPAR is available at the school office or online at: http://doeweb-prd.doe.state.fl.us/eds/nclbspar/index.cfm
