Chemistry unit test

Matter What is matter? Changes of states? Particle theory (connect to change of state and matter). Classification of Matter (pure substances, mixtures – identify and describe). Physical and Chemical properties (determine based on examples). Physical and Chemical changes (identify with examples). Solving Density problems (use formula).

The atom Periodic table: metals, non-metals, metalloid location and properties. Proper chemical symbol structure. Standard notation. Organization of the periodic table: groups and periods. Location of properties of: alkali’s, alkaline earth’s, halogens, noble gases. Atomic theory scientists and their contributions.

The atom Components of an atom: protons, electrons, neutrons. How to determine proton, electron and neutron numbers. Atomic mass, mass number and atomic number – what they mean etc. Bohr diagrams. Trends of the periodic table.

bonding Atom Counting. Lewis dot diagrams. Gas tests. Properties of Ionic and Molecular compounds. Bonding using Lewis diagrams for Ionic and Molecular compounds. Determining chemical names and formulas for Ionic and Molecular compounds.

The details Wednesday, March 28th!!! Same format as previous tests. Textbook review: #1-25, 41-44, 46, 51, 52, 63.
