Mr. Zindman and Ms. Denny’s Class Back to School Night September 2015 Mr. Zindman and Ms. Denny’s Class

All About Your Teacher Mr. Zindman I have been a Special Education Teacher for many years. I Graduated Penn State, Stony Brook and Hofstra Universities. I am Experienced in meeting the needs of students with special needs. I love teaching middle school students

Our Class Teaching Assistant Ms Denny Has been a Special Education Teacher Assistant for many years. Ms. Denny has a wide array of experiences working with students with special needs. Is a college graduate. Is a New York State Certified Teaching Assistant. Loves to work with middle school students.

Curriculum Curriculum Guides are located in the hand out. It summarizes the academic areas we will be covering in class. All students will learn using cooperative group assignments and individual work.

Materials One inch 3-ring binder Lose-leaf paper 1 Plastic folder 2 pens (pencil case)

Textbook In social studies will be using the textbook, History of Our World. In English Language Arts we will be using many novels, articles and hand outs

Grading Policy Your child’s grading will be determined in the following manner: 30% For class activities. 50% Test scores and computer web based activities. 20% Homework. 100% Quarter grade Midterm and final exams account for 33 % of your final grade! A New York State assessment will be given in ELA in the Spring of 2016. Total: 100% of your grade

HOMEWORK Homework is based upon the reinforcement of class lessons and the Common Core Curriculum. All assignments are provided for each student on paper. All homework activities is available for your perusal at www.mrzindman.com . Just click on the homework tab.
