Meteorology The scientific study of Earth’s weather. What does it mean? Ancient Greeks thought anything that fell from the sky was a meteor, including rain, snow and hail TG- p.46

What does it mean? Today, meteorology includes only the study of weather. Planetary scientists study meteors. TG- P.46

Meteorologist A person who studies the causes and effects of Earth’s weather. Meteorologists study weather in order to make predictions or forecasts Forecasts let people know what kinds of weather to expect the next day or the next week. TG- P.46-47

Reading Read the article “Naming Hurricanes” on page 3 of the Resource book. Write three key ideas you found interesting or did not know about prior to the reading. Write one question you still have. Summarize reading TG - P.47

In the end… Complete a six question summary of our exploration of weather. You must use complete sentences with proper grammar and spelling in all your work.
