Agenda – Part 2 System overview Install, connect and edit competition Edit gymnast details Edit teams Change bounce order Editing classes Panels and printers

TScore components Master / Server PC Scoring PC Viewing PC TScore Database service TScore Viewing PC Comp 1 VScore Comp 2 Comp 3 Database Connector Comp 4 Comp 5

Installation Download 3 packages from https://tscore.co.uk PostgreSQL database server PostgreSQL database connector TScore installer Install the server first, then the connector, then TScore Always install the database server in a ‘real’ folder e.g. C:\\Postgres not in Program Files, My Documents or the desktop Set the PostgreSQL account name and password to ‘postgres’ Full instructions are online and in the user guide

Installation - 2 Check that the PostgreSQL service is running Run the Windows ‘Services’ app Check the PostgreSQL service is ‘running’. Start it if not. Run TScore, enter licence string if prompted Connect to the local database server Enter 127.0.0.1 if it fails to find the server by name

Installation - 3 On first run, TScore will offer to install demo competitions These are useful! You can now explore those demo competitions to try out scoring and configuration options Each demo database contains lists of classes and entrants plus competition configuration information You can edit the classes and gymnast details interactively The next few slides will show you some of the options We will show you how to create a completely new competition later

Main screen Current db server Current comp db Comp title, date and venue Connect to a competition Edit the current comp Score this competition A few hints! Create a competition Import and export options Version, date and time now Show competition status Shut down TScore

Connect to a competition The server contains multiple competition databases TScore works with one database at a time Click the Change Database button to choose the database Pick the competition then click Connect

Main screen and connection dialog Demonstration Main screen and connection dialog

Connection dialog Choose the server PC (by name or IP address) Search network for servers Re-list comps on the server Connect to this comp DB username & password (if not installed as advised!) Edit gymnast details Select the gymnast, change the fields, then click Save Check the details are confirm the changes

Demonstration Edit gymnast details

Edit teams Schools competitions always need last minute changes Entry forms indicate team membership (A, B, C etc.) The team letter is appended to the short school name You can just edit that, but there is a much better way Click the Teams button

Demonstration Edit teams

Edit the start order Start numbers These set the bounce order for each class You can just edit them to change the order Better to use the ‘Change Flights’ tab – pick a class first

Edit flight / bounce order Demonstration Edit flight / bounce order

Edit classes Each class has numerous attributes that can be configured Number of passes, tariff, bonus, discipline, qualification Finals, warmup / compete times, special rules, panel

Editing classes - 1 Pick a class from the list to edit Age, Gender, Grade and Discipline must be a unique combination Name and Full Name must both be unique You should ensure that class names include an indication of discipline for mixed competitions

Editing classes - 2 Pick a class from the list to edit Age, Gender, Grade and Discipline must be a unique combination Name and Full Name must both be unique You should ensure that class names include an indication of discipline for mixed competitions

Editing classes - 3 Simple changes to Name, Full Name – alter and ‘Save Changes’ If you change Age, Gender, Grade or Discipline they must match the entry form or athlete import file fields Event rules depend on the discipline:

Editing classes - 4 Where there is a high entry for a class, you can split into flights You can set the total time and the warmup time per entrant The Green value shows this is the default warmup time (See Preferences later) TScore will adjust this if there are 2 beds

Editing classes - 5 TScore gives lots of options for Qualifying Scores Lower and upper thresholds (e.g. Qualification vs Mobility) One or two conditions (with AND / OR ) Total score, 1 or 2 round score (value > 10.0), difficulty (dN) Absolute (1 to 10) or percentage (N%) positions Include or exclude bonus, horizontal displacement, difficulty

Demonstration Edit classes

Editing classes – More? The class definitions you have used so far already exist in the competition database. In the ‘advanced’ configuration section later in this course you will learn how to: Create and modify ‘class definition files’ Save your modified classes for re-use Combine one or more classes Create template classes for auto-creation on import

Panels and printers TScore lets you configure each panel directly from the recording station. Go to Edit Competition->Preferences You can set the number of execution judges (ignore ‘Art’ for trampoline!) You can set the number of Range & Conditioning judges TScore can configure 3 different printers (hover over them for info) Printer 1 – Results and checklists Printer 2 - Certificates Printer 3 – Result tickets (for AG)
