The Effective Management of Juvenile Sex Offenders in the Community Section 8: Summary

Take Home Messages There is no “typical” profile of a juvenile sex offender. “One size fits all” approaches are not appropriate. Juvenile sex offenders are not miniature adult offenders. Collaboration is key to managing this population. Section 8

Take Home Messages (Continued) Comprehensive and ongoing assessments are critical. Treatment must be specialized to meet the needs of the juvenile and driven by assessment information. Effective supervision strategies reflect a balanced, success-oriented approach. Section 8

Take Home Messages (Continued) Early planning and coordination can aid in transition and reentry. Ideal legislative responses will reflect current literature on juvenile sex offenders. Section 8
