Mughal empire (1526-1857)

Delhi Sultanate A series of Turkish Muslim dynasties that ruled northern India from the city of Delhi in the 300 years leading up to the creation of the Mughal Empire.  Sultanate: land ruled by a sultan, or a Muslim ruler
