Who are the government? The government are the people who run the country. Made up of MP’s (members of parliament), lead by the Prime Minister (David Cameron). They set the policies and laws for the country

The UK National government Make laws that apply to everyone Must follow EU directives Try to encourage business to locate in the UK Want to create a sound and stable economy

The European government Effects all members of the EU Protects internal market Promotes competition laws to keep prices fair for all members Encourages product standardisation

Local government All areas in UK have a local council They promote their own area Try to encourage businesses to locate their (grants and other incentives)
