Lesson 9.2.3 Day 2 – Teacher Notes Standard: 6.RP.A.3c Use ratio and rate reasoning to solve real-world and mathematical problems, e.g., by reasoning about tables of equivalent ratios, tape diagrams, double number line diagrams, or equations. Find a percent of a quantity as a rate per 100 (e.g., 30% of a quantity means 30/100 times the quantity); solve problems involving finding the whole, given a part and the percent. Full mastery can be expected by the end of the chapter. Lesson Focus: The focus of the lesson is for student to practice more with double number lines and percent rulers to solve real-world percentage problems. (9-55 and 9-58) I can solve problems finding the whole, given the part and the percent. Calculator: yes Literacy/Teaching Strategy: Red-Light-Green-Light (9-52 and 9-53); Traveling Salesman (Closure)
