Executive Committee June 13, 2012 WHPA Key Initiatives Executive Committee June 13, 2012

Scope of Work “Proactively work among and across WHPA teams…to identify cross-cutting themes, topics and issues of significance for improving demand-side energy management in California.” Dale and Paul assigned primary WHPA staff responsibility, but success requires active involvement from entire WHPA membership

Preliminary List of Initiatives Laundry list of items compiled over last six months Input received from WHPA members, IOUs, CPUC, and WHPA staff Included in the materials for May Executive Committee meeting Updated since meeting with additional input Some initiatives are complex and costly while others are simple and less costly However, the current list is still incomplete

Additional Sources of Input WHPA Progress Report Recently completed by EMI and submitted to SCE as a draft WHPA Sustainability Working Group Executive Committee Council of Advisors Key WHPA Members Committee Chairs

Next Steps Distribute current list of Potential Key Initiatives Contact WHPA members to solicit additional input, guidance and ideas Include actionable recommendations from EMI report Include additional details on “final” list Cost Project schedule Support resources Recommended priority Present at August EC meeting for approval or modification

Questions That Need Answered Which initiatives seem worthy of WHPA involvement? Which are not worthy at this time? What additional initiatives have been missed and need to be added? Which initiatives most support current activities/issues impacting the HVAC industry? The 2012 WHPA Staff budget is very limited.  Which one, two, or three Key Initiatives are urgent? For instance, which initiatives should be dealt with so that the 2013-14 HVAC programs can be of the maximum benefit to ratepayers, customers, and the HVAC industry? Who needs to be involved in the initiatives that seem most worthwhile and in what roles/capacities would they participate? Which Key Initiatives should be dealt with immediately and which should be kept on the list and have their costs included in the 2013-2014 WHPA budget?
