ACTIVATOR 1. Have homework out on corner of your desk. 2. (2 minutes) On your whiteboard, solve: 3. (1 minute): turn and talk to your neighbor ACTIVATOR

Today’s Objective 6.RP.A.3a I will be able to represent ratios in ratio tables, double number line diagrams and then be able to graph those ratios in the coordinate plane. So I can analyze the relationship between ratios in different representations to solve real world and mathematical scenarios. I will show I understand when we can successfully complete the matching activity as a group with 100% accuracy and then demonstrate how to plot ratios from a table and a double number line independently using white boards with at least 80% accuracy. 6.RP.A.3a

Language Objective I will be able to use the four language domains of reading, writing, speaking and listening to represent ratios in ratio tables, double number line diagrams and then be able to graph those ratios in the coordinate plane. I will show I understand when I can orally discuss and listen to my partners as we complete the matching activity and then plot ratios from a table and a double number line. Vocab: ratios, ratio tables, double number line, graph, ordered pairs, equation, coordinate plane, equivalent ratios, rate of change, variables

Mini-Lesson: use whiteboards What are some things that you notice about the different representations? What are some things that you still wonder about? Mini-Lesson: use whiteboards Problem: Mrs. O. is making cookies for a party. For every 1 cup of sugar she needs, she needs 2 eggs. She needs to make the recipe for larger amounts, let’s help her figure out the amount of ingredients she would need. (Sugar: Eggs) Sugar Eggs Eggs Cups of Sugar

Now you try… With your partners, you are going to match the table, graph, double number line, ordered pair and equation to form one complete representation in the different formats of the ratio problems.
