Problem: Transportation is costing Lakota a lot of money that it doesnt have. Solution: Combine bus routes to eliminate buses and save Lakota money.

It tells how much Lakota is spending and on what. p This site helped us because it explains what has already been done, so then we know whats left to be done. Superintendent Taylor also helped us by giving us information about Lakotas budget and issues.

Problems: Overcrowding- There will be more kids riding each bus. Have the students be extra careful when riding the bus. Earlier pick-ups and later drop-offs- Busses have to leave earlier and drive longer to pick-up and drop-off kids. Combine bus stops so the bus doesnt have to stop at as many places. Planning who rides which bus- This will take a while because you have to figure out who is riding which bus and how many students will be on each bus. Longer routes for bus drivers- Since there are more kids riding each bus a bus driver has to drive longer to pick up all of the students.

Step one: Gather information such as number of students riding the bus, number of students allowed to ride each bus, location of where each student lives, etc. Step two: Figure out possible bus routes, bus stops, and which student rides which bus. Step three: Assign the students to the best routes.

Short term goals: Eliminate some of the busses. Have each route run efficiently. Get as many kids to one bus stop. Long term goals: Save money on busses. Save money on fuel. Make sure each student is safe. Eliminating busses saves a lot of money because one bus costs 70,000 dollars per year.
