I Love Photography By: Maria Mota
Lewis Hine Young Russian Jewess, Ellis Island, New York, 1905 I love the authentic style. I feel as though that is what Lewis Hine was aiming for in this picture. Seeing this photograph reminds me that everything wasnt easy as it is today. Those building we are seeing and working in were made by immigrants who were paid below minimum wage. So why do we diss them so much? America was founded by immigrants. I feel as we take advantage of what we have today, and dont appreciate those little things that we have today. Thats why I love photography, snaps us back into reality.
Boogie Instabul Series Gosh, this picture is crazy. Had so many thoughts running through my mind when I saw this photograph. Reminds me how different everyone's value is. Everyones right from wrong is different. I think it brings diversity. Makes us reminisce how different our childhood was different from other people. Boogie is such a great photographer. Catches astonishing photographs. His pictures makes people think.
Sariah Pictures can bring back emotional memories, this one is a happy one. I laugh at this picture all the time I see it. This photograph of Kendall and I was taken on our way to the bus stop by Sariah. He was such a nice kid, but always broke. I miss him! Theres not much else to say, this picture speak 1000 more words itself. I just can add: How is he doing?!
Duane Michals Slavation This picture brings a lot of mixed emotions. This is way I love phoography, brings a lot of dicussion to the table. I dont know what the photographer was thinking but if I showed my family theyll flip. I dont now what to think of this photo, but its interesting. I enjoy seeing different point of views.
Sally mann Candy cigerette, 1989 This photo by Sally Mann is great, Reminds me how the people from the generation of the 21 st century are. A lot of them think that their grown and know more on life than their own grandparents. Their attitude is sassy and ignorant, well the ones I have met. This photo total portrays how I see kids these days.
Lewis Hine 1931 Courtesy George Eastman House Ha, This is how I would want my husband to be if he was white, so stereotypical. Its picture perfect. However, I feel as it also reminds us how fit and healthy looking people back then looked. It looks like they ACTUALLY worked. We dont see that in these times. I feel if I can compare this hard working man to people today, majority of the people of today would portray the people from the movie Wall-e. Thats sad, the energy of doing thing in the 21 st century is below zero.
Boogie In the hood, youll never see this. Youll never catch a hood guy caring for its son. Its usually the babys mama doing everything for the baby. Picture this: instead of the guy but the mom, and place where the mom is at the guy, thats what youll see. This picture brings happiness and joy.
Maria Mota Bad picture, it is over a year old, but I felt as this captured a moment of my cousin and I. We were at my neighbors sweet 15. I feel as when I see this photo I see how much my cousin and I have grown in a year. This captured a story, and if you sat me down and asked about this picture, I can say a LONG story. I would never forget where, when, why, what, and who factors of that day. Thats a promise.
Boogie For selfish reasons I enjoy this picture. Brings me back to those good Ol happy days, were I had my pitbull Gracie. I feel as this picture captures how I would walk my dog. Brings me a teary eye. I think Boogie captured the tender side of the pitbull. The rule of thirds did justice to this picture. Boogie is a great photographer.
