Instructions: DoD Instruction 1322.29 NAVADMIN 222/15 (Navy) Air Force Instruction 36-2639

Purpose: To provide service members with opportunities to participate in civilian employment training, before separation for the military.

Overview Service Member Acquire civilian OJT, apprenticeships and internships while still in the military. Start 180 days from separation High probability of employment and be provided at little to no cost.

Overview Companies Early Access Does not pay Saves money/time

Companies participating Fortune 500 companies Public utilities Variety of labor unions and other groups.

Qualifications Company No or minimal cost to the Service Member Post-service employment upon completion Will not provide wages, training stipends, or any other form of financial compensation to Service Member.

Criteria Must be “on the job training” or apprenticeship, as listed as part of the Education and Job Training Program approved by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. Must be accredited by an agency recognized by U.S. Department of Education

Criteria Must be a certificate program accredited by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) Must be a registered apprenticeship program or training program that meet the standards for register apprenticeships by the Department of Labor

Qualification Service Member Volunteer 180 Days Approved by Commanding Officer Mission Requirements 50 mile limit

Qualifications Sailors 180 Days Have sufficient time Pass PFA Recommended for advancement TGPS requirements Attend ethics brief within 12 months of training
