Presentation transcript:

Recall the pH of acid, alkali and neutral (L4). Do now! 5 mins On whiteboards, in pairs: Write down a pH that is alkali. Write down a pH that is acid. Write down a pH that is neutral. EXT: What colour would each pH above be? 5 Recall the pH of acid, alkali and neutral (L4).

Objectives By the end of this lesson I will be able to: Recall the pH of acid, alkali and neutral (L4). Describe how to use the pH scale (L5). Use a ‘Badger’ framework to describe and explain how antacid tablets work (L3-6).

Describe how to use the pH scale (L5). Starter 5 mins On whiteboards, in pairs: Describe how to use the pH scale. Use a diagram to show what happens when acid is added to alkali. 5 Describe how to use the pH scale (L5).

Objectives By the end of this lesson I will be able to: Recall the pH of acid, alkali and neutral (L4). Describe how to use the pH scale (L5). Use a ‘Badger’ framework to describe and explain how antacid tablets work (L3-6).

You should work up towards the highest levels. Badger?! You will use a level ladder to help you create a poster explaining how an antacid tablet works. The level ladders tell you what you need to complete (correctly) in order to reach each level. You should work up towards the highest levels.

Good work Have a look at the different examples of work on your table. What is the difference between the L4 and L5 work? Can you spot how one is better? - What has been included? - What is missing from the L4 work? - Could you improve either of them? Use a ‘Badger’ framework to describe and explain how antacid tablets work (L3-6).

Objectives By the end of this lesson I will be able to: Recall the pH of acid, alkali and neutral (L4). Describe how to use the pH scale (L5). Use a ‘Badger’ framework to describe and explain how antacid tablets work (L3-6).
