EDC Denominational Schools Planning in RERC 19th April 2011

Aim To develop a clear understanding of effective planning in RERC at: - Whole school level - Class Level (Year) - Class level (Thematic)

Having faith in the curriculum Bridge between ‘This is our faith’ and Cfe Based on values and vision for Catholic Education Three tier planning – One way of organising curriculum Core learning is key Assessment focused on overall outcome: Key core learning

What now? Look at whole year planner – not all class based Think of class / home / school / Parish Fill in liturgical year Think of main themes of year – based on existing knowledge Plan for each term / month? Add in experiences and outcomes and core learning? Try and ensure coverage

In school? Think about adding activities / resources Start to plan for each theme using thematic planners Share idea with colleagues Ensure planner for each stage Might want to think of how RERC can be used as a context for other learning. Share across the schools
