GEG Profile Steria is a multinational which provides IT and consulting services and ,develops and operates the information systems of its clients (public services, finance, telecommunications, transport…). Steria carries out its activities across 16 countries. The group is listed on the Euronext Paris market and over 20% of its capital is owned by its employees. In 2014, following the merger of Steria and Sopra, group Steria and its subsidiaries are now part of the Sopra Steria Group, a European leader of digital transformation established in September 2014. This GEG is considered of medium size for France (TOP_GEG_IND: “M” in EGR)

See >>Regulatory fillings/Annual reports Profiling GEG : STERIA Desk exercise Sources : 1- Frame of the GEG from EGR 2012 2- Extract from the Annual report for 2012 To download A/R http://investisseurs.steria.com/phoenix.zhtml?c=170213&p=irol-irhome See >>Regulatory fillings/Annual reports 3 – OFATS data

All sources referred to 2012 Answer the quizz Referring to the EGR frame of the GEG, the extract of Annual Report and information available in OFATS survey. All sources referred to 2012 >> One half hour to find out the information and one half hour for correction and discussion

Questions 1/ List the main characteristics of the GEG 1- Name : Steria SCA group 2- Activity : IT services NACE code “6201” or “6202” according to EGR 3-UCI : Steria SCA 4-legal form of the UCI : “Société en commandite par actions” I.e a limited joint stock company between its limited partners and general partners (Soderi) with variable capital. 5-Address : France Issy les Moulineaux 6-Global Revenue and global employment Revenue :1,827.2 millions euros in 2012 Employees : 19,754 in 2012 (average nb in the A/R) against 13,235 (EGR)

Questions 2/ Compare EGR scope and GEG scope of the GEG (Group legal organization + scope of consolidation) -identify common affiliates -identify missing affiliates from the A/R in the EGR -identify active affiliates in the EGR which are not in the GEG scope of consolidation. Quite good EGR quality for this GEG No missing affiliates in FR, main affiliates in the other countries found excepted for UK (many missing affiliates not found in the EGR) Here the updating of the PT will be quite simple

Questions 3/ Which is the UCI NSIs and partnering NSIs in EU EFTA countries? INSEE (FR) will be the UCI NSI since the headquarter (UCI or GDC) is located in France. AT/BE/CH/CY/DE/DK/ES/LU/SE/PL/NO will be the partnering countries.

4/Is the GEG IFRS compliant 4/Is the GEG IFRS compliant? Yes (answer p 130 A/R) 5/IFRS 8/Number of operational segments? Here it straightforward with a reporting by countries>>1 GEN “Groupe Steria SCA is managed on the basis of seven geographical operating segments. Three are major individual countries: France, the UK and Germany. The other segments comprising Scandinavia (Norway, Sweden and Denmark), Benelux (Belgium and Luxembourg), Switzerland and Poland have been grouped together in a joint geographical area denominated “Rest of Europe” for the purposes of IFRS 8 presentation” (A/R p 141).

6-How many GENS/TEN should be derivated in EU-EFTA countries 6-How many GENS/TEN should be derivated in EU-EFTA countries ? FR_STERIA_GROUP AT_STERIA_GROUP BE_STERIA_GROUP CH_STERIA_GROUP CY_STERIA_GROUP… 1 GEN and 12 TENs

7- Is this case could be treated as a light profiling case or as an intensive profiling case ? - Very detailed A/R - EGR scope not too far from GEG scope - Only one GEN -OFATS data available and NACE*country similar to the GEN - Employees/T/O and other core variables available for 2012 => proposal : Light profiling case
