As always, many factors are used when deciding on funding for projects. A staff panel was created representing several divisions including engineering, contracts & real estate, finance, development and external affairs. The panel reviewed the requests to ensure they were consistent with the Policy on Aid to Local Ports and they unanimously agreed to recommend these projects as presented. The total amount requested for FY2014 is just over $1.7 million.

Harbor Redevelopment Plan - $2.3m Town of Cape Charles Harbor Redevelopment Plan - $2.3m Has requested $75,000 new money to continue with this comprehensive harbor re-development plan. This will allow them to install floating breakwaters and new decking.
