Angular Momentum Density Conditions in Protogalactic Clouds
Centaurus A Elliptical Galaxy
NGC3370 Spiral Galaxy
NGC 55 – irregular galaxy Pink star forming regions and blue (new) star clusters.
Leo A – dwarf irregular galaxy
Arp 243 – Tidal Tails
Whirlpool Galaxy
Antennae Galaxy
Antennae Galaxies – The dark dust detailes massive molecular clouds that are being compressed during collision. The blue is caused by newly formed stars, formed is a starburst caused by the galactic collision. There are also the pinkish star forming regions.
Cartwheel Galaxy
Computer Simulations In 1972, Alar and Jüri Toomre conducted the first computer simulations of galaxy interactions. They were able to reproduce tidal tails of galaxies. Their process of collision evolution became known as the Toomre Sequence.
