First used during 1955 World Jamboree 1956 – BSA stated all scouts and scouters that had participated in approved ‘international activity or event’ worn to and from event 1991 – BSA changed policy to make the World Crest required for all uniforms 1957 – allowed those that participated to wear continuously, majority of those that earned from Transatlantic or Far East Councils 1980 – rules relaxed to allow scouts and scouters that had taken part in an international exhibit or display whether or not scouts from another country present. 1989 – Any one allowed to wear it as symbol of brotherhood.
